If sacredspacebookings is granted the honor of representing your house of worship i will leverage the contacts that i have gathered over 13 plus years and let them know that you are available for rentals sacredspacebookings will provide the production personnel with site specific details that will make it a must have/appealing film destination/venue.
A mixture of approaches will be used to promote your house of worship, including:
- Adding your religious institution to the sacredspacebookings brochure
- Listing the institution on the sacredspacebookings Sacredspacebookings will highlight what is unique about your worship space, but also letting the production personnel know that the spaces could be transformed into production ready space – (such as) a bank vault (that could become) (or) a place for a secret society to gather, as well as point out other unique features such as: rooms with unusual or decorative architecture, fireplaces, rooms that have secret chambers & doorways, unusual passageways & spiral stairways, connecting tunnels, towers, facades that could double as school or college campus or even a medieval castle…
- Informing the production company about large and small rooms for non-filming purposes, such as empty rooms that would be ideal for non-filming purposes (catering and holding, hair, makeup & wardrobe, green rooms, etc.) And providing information about access roadways and parking (if applicable to your venue).
The world of film and television production benefits greatly from word of mouth, repeat business and most importantly past positive relationships. We have an extensive list of contacts (production managers, assistant and location managers, location scouts) to reach out to and promote your interest in getting your space rented. Phone calls, email blasts, and face-to-face meetings with scouts to discuss your religious institutions may be used. Our company has a proven track record and reputation as an honest power broker with the ability to conduct “shuttle diplomacy” between you the (“owner”) and the production company (“user”) to develop a winning plan for both parties.
Churches, synagogues and mosques are extremely (and appropriately) protective of their sacred spaces. While being sensitive to these concerns the creative team might want to include a scene that depicts violence or includes placing items on altars or showing specific religious icons that would add to the drama of the scene but go against the wishes of the church leaders. It is important to be candid with the user and communicate the redlines on which the religious institution will not compromise and to suggest ways in which the scene could be shot without offending the church leaders.
An agreement to have sacredspacebookings as your representative can be negotiated on a year-to-year basis.
Sacredspacebookings expects to be appointed as the principal representative for the owner and perform as media negotiator; however, sacredspacebookings understands that the owner, may sometimes have its own exclusive productions and events that will not involve sacredspacebookings as its representative. Sacredspacebookings requests one weeks advance notice in writing of any arrangement of this type, in order to avoid double booking, the site. Owners are encouraged to share the organization’s event calendar with sacredspacebookings.
Our primary goal is to generate revenue for religious institutions. The rental fee for the day or days will include compensation for your employee(s) who will be on duty while the production is in-house. Therefore, on the day or days when the production is in-house the institution’s employee or employees will be paid for the day’s work by the production. Sacredspacebookings will serve as the supervisor of owner’s employees while they are performing tasks related to the production) and will set up a communication system with the religious institution’s executive director, minister or other designated representative to discuss any and all production requests. This includes the pre-production walkthrough, the prep day or days, the day of filming, or non-filming, use of the property, concluding with the wrap and exit walkthrough.
Please consult with your tax accountant or tax attorney for any and all tax advice that relates to your institution. Sacred spacebookings will complete a w-9 form, listing the following: church’s name, address, check appropriate box for federal tax classification (church) add the ein, and will sign and return the document to the production company on your behalf along with the contract etc.
Sacredspacebookings works to make sure that every detail of the day is mapped out ahead of time: number of cast, crew and background actors, locations/areas that the production will be permitted to use, script pages, etc. A tech scout list will be submitted in advance for review and approval. All these details are included in the agreement or an addendum that is attached to the agreement. Any breach of the agreement is immediately pointed out to the location manager/her or his assistant and the location assistant on the ground so that the issue can immediately be rectified before it becomes an untenable situation.
